DNA-mazing

Two uploads in one day? Just what in the name of Galvan Prime is wrong with me? Well, it turns out that I accidentally started a new experiment in the underground basement that may or may not hold a lab full of genetic equipment and an all too quick genetic splicing machine capable of combining the DNA of various creatures into new species for your enjoyment. Long story short, this guy is what popped out!

Onto the facts!

Name: DNA-mazing

Species: Polyion Deoxinoid

Home World: Helixon II

Powers/abilities: DNA-mazing possesses flight capabilities and usually gets around by hovering, as his legs are normally too weak to support his entire weight for too long due to a nearly non-existent skeletal structure. His soft skin and tissue allow for him to absorb objects or people and store them inside of him for extended periods of time whenever the reason may arise.

Polyion Deoxinoids have remarkable regeneration abilities and are capable of regrowing lost limbs and organs without issue. They can even lose their heads and the body will still function, though it takes a while for the head to reform; this is possible because while a Deoxionoid's brain is located on the front of their head, they have several special organs stored within their body that can temporarily take on the job of the brain until the head has been restored.

DNA-mazing's main ability however, is that he is able to change his genetic code at will. Each of his sensitive tentacle tips are covered in microscopic bristles on the subcellular level that allow him to access the genetic codes of his opponents and allies and take on their forms and attributes within his own; this allows him to gain a variety of body parts and abilities he doesn't originally have (i.e. taking a sample from a Pyronite and gaining the ability to breath fire).

Polyion Deoxinoids are stronger than an average human and their tentacles can be used like whips to attack and restrain opponents and attackers. These tentacles can effortlessly mold together into a single limb to provide extra power for morph into a pair of hands if the Deoxinoid as acquired the DNA of a species with fingers and thumbs. Likewise, DNA-mazing can generate this tentacles from any part of his body at will.

Deoxinoids can travel comfortably through the vacuum of space and don't require oxygen to survive.

Weaknesses: Strong acids such as those from Slamworm easily eat away at DNA-mazing's soft skin and muscles and stagnate his regeneration abilities.

While Polyion Deoxinoids can recover from extensive damage, they are unable to regenerate themselves if enoug of their bodies have been destroyed.

Tachyon cannons are a severe problem to Polyion Deoxinoids as the average Deoxinoid can sometimes have the DNA of over one-hundred species lying dormant within its body, thus sometimes accidentally putting it in the line of fire when a Tachyon cannon is activated and fired.

Attacking DNA-mazing's brain - located on his forehead - will cause severe pain, trauma, and will greatly disorient him.

Etymology: DNA-mazing's name comes from DNA, the "building blocks of life" and the word, "amazing".

Trivia: The species' name comes from the words "poly", which means "many", and "Deoxyribonucleic acid", the scientific naming for DNA.

The Polyion Deoxinoid home world references the double helix, the shape that DNA most commonly takes in most forms of media.

DNA-mazing bares a striking resemblance to the Pokemon, Deoxys. Both are based on DNA, have a red and blue color scheme, and share a similar power set. Likewise, DNA-mazing's powers are similar to those of the Pokemon Mew.

Polyion Deoxinoid's are a primitive race that has existed since the beginning of the universe, around the time the Slimebiotes began seeding life across the newborn cosmos and the Celestialsapiens ancient ancestors were spawned. They were among the first of many genetic experiments that the Slimebiotes made during their quest to fulfill their long life mission; unfortunately, the Polyion Deoxinoid's were doomed from the start. They are an race of unstable DNA-based lifeforms that are constantly changing form, unable to retain a single shape for very long and continuously growing and losing various features and abilities due to their unstable genetics. They seek to absorb all life in the universe in an attempt to find some way of stabilizing themselves and will attack any other DNA-based lifeform that comes within reach.

Polyion Deoxinoids reproduce through a similar process to that of cell division. The original Deoxinoid will cease to exist, but they will continue to live on in the pair of clones that they separate themselves into, thus ensuring the survival of the species.

Azmuth has attempted to find a means of stabilizing the Polyion Deoxinoid species as a whole, but thus far has only been able to counterbalance the DNA sample of the species for the Omnitrix. Every Polyion Deoxinoid has a different problem with their genetics, thus making the process incredibly slow and next to impossible.

EDIT: So there were some comments about how DNA-mazing's previous look didn't look as well balanced as it should have been, and I whole-heartily agree. There was something . . . off . . . about it that I couldn't quite place, so I gave the guy a redesign that I can safely say that I am very happy with. Enjoy!
