Description

This here's another one of a number of aliens requested by :iconshadow-dj: for me to bring to life.

It's been how long exactly? Meh, I blame the complicated genetics for the lateness. I mean, seriously, do you have any idea how difficult it is to make an organism out of solid rock without a template to use? It's harder than it sounds! And don't even get me started on the Corrodium core . . . but I'm rambling as usual. Oh, well!

Without further ado, onto the facts!

Name: Skullback

Species: Gargodian

Homeworld: Anur Transyl Core (formerly), Anur Transyl (currently)

Powers/abilities: Skullback possesses great physically strength, easily being able to lift a car over his head and throw it down a city block. This also allows him to climb vertical surfaces such as buildings with little effort and he can do so while carrying multiple people on his back or heavy objects. Furthermore, this gives Skullback a strong bite force that is more than capable of breaking rocks and a powerful tail tipped with spike-like protrusions that inflict a fair amount of pain and damage.

Gargodians use their wings to glide on large updrafts and thermals. Likewise, they have incredible jumping capabilities - able to launch themselves several stories - in order to catch a good updraft.

Skullback has thick, rock-like skin that makes him very durable to the point where he can take bullets and blaster fire at blank point range without even flinching.

Like all species from the Anur System, Gargodians are immune to the effects of Corrodium.

Gargodians possesses what can be described as limited telepathic powers, though it is unclear how this is possible. It is to be noted that they only seem to be able to sense the underlining dark desires of certain individuals simply by looking at them, making them, in a sense, able to literally detect evil wherever it might be.

Weaknesses: Because of their heavyset bodies, Gargodians are incapable of true flight and thus rely on gliding to get around. This limits the amount of places they can get to in certain amounts of time.

Etymology: Skullback's name references the bone-like growths that decorate his body, which are featured quite heavily on his back.

Trivia: The species name comes from the word 'gargoyle', which are gothic statues often carved to look like guardians or demons whose original purpose was to serve as water spouts in order to keep running water from eroding away at the sides of old buildings and to prevent mold growth. They also act as guardians to the people that live or work in the buildings that they guard and serve to creep more than a few others out in the mean time.

A great many of Skullback's traits and the Gargodian's behavior are based on the Gargoyles animated series and the League of Legends champion, Galio.

The Gargodians were a species created by an unknown and long forgotten race whose original purpose to fight against an unknown enemy from another dimension eons ago, thus making them some of the oldest beings in the universe. They were eventually put into a centuries long slumber and sealed away in Anur Transyl's core by Zs'Skayr in order to prevent them from meddling in his schemes. The Gargodians would eventually be released by Ben during another trip to the Anur System and a vast majority of them are participating students at the Plumbers Academy while simultaneously catching up on intergalactic affairs.

Gargodians are arguably the only 'good' species in the entire Anur System as they are genetically wired from the day they are hatched to protect it from harm at all costs. This mirrors the real life gargoyles lore-based purpose.

Gargodians naturally gather in large roosts of related individuals and close friends led by an alpha couple; this is typically made up of the strongest male and female of the entire colony. These couples can be challenged by another in a sparring match that is said to 'shake the very earth to its core' and leave devastating damage in their wake, though the participants are rarely harmed. It is in fact considered a dishonor to either kill an opponent or to fight a downed or weak opponent in these fights and will have the rest of the entire colony set upon them if these rules are ever broken.

It is said that Gargodians draw their immense strength and power from a Corrodium core located at the very center of their bodies.

How hard was it to draw him?Could his punches destroy a building or knock one down?
